Migration from Server/DC

The cloud version of the “Configuration Management Toolkit JIRA” is built as a Forge app. Since Forge apps are not yet supported by Atlassian’s “Migration Assistant,” we have developed a custom migration solution.

Our Server/DC app allows exporting .json files for the following entities:

  • Component Versions

  • Subcomponents

  • Bundles

To migrate to the cloud, you can export these .json files from the Server/DC version and import them into the corresponding cloud pages. This process must be done on a project-by-project basis and requires “Project Admin” permissions for the cloud import.

The recommended import sequence is:

  1. Subcomponents

  1. Component Versions

  1. Bundles

If necessary, multiple imports can be performed. During the import, the app will create any missing entities. If an entity already exists in the cloud, it will be skipped.
