Custom Fields

Jira has built-in total fields, like “Total time spent” which calculates total time spent on the issue itself and all the subtasks of the issue. But this doesn’t work for other relationships for example new parent field. In the old days, task and sub-task was only hierarchy possible. But now you can use “Parent” field to create an issue hierarchy using any issue type. But built-in total fields are not aware of this hierarchy. Our “Total effort fields” uses new “Parent field” to calculate all the effort totals.
