Agenda

While the Inbox is for defining "what" the work is, and the Actions page is for "how" (what state) it is in, the Agenda page is your time-based view designated for organizing "when" you will do the work.

This page displays all work items for which you have set a time goal in a chronological flow, helping you plan your day and week.

Time Context

A Time Context is a flexible timeframe indicating when you aim to complete a task (e.g., "Today", "This Week"). It is not a strict deadline but rather a period of focus.

The Agenda page displays your work in sections grouped by these contexts:

  • Today

  • Tomorrow

  • This Week

  • Next Week

  • This Month

Scheduled Items and the "Today" View

Work items with the action status "Scheduled" have a specific "Action Date."

The "Today" section of the Agenda page has a special behavior: All "Scheduled" items whose action date is today or in the past are prioritized and listed at the very top of the "Today" group. This ensures you don't miss any due or overdue items.

  1. Search & filter group: This toolbar controls which items appear in the Agenda view.

    • Basic / JQL Toggle:

      • Basic: Allows you to search for tasks by typing text that matches an Jira work item key and summary, or private task title.

      • JQL: Switches the input to Jira Query Language mode, enabling you to run advanced queries to filter specific Jira work items.

    • Work Filter: A dropdown menu that lets you filter the displayed items by type, allowing you to view only Jira work items, only private tasks, or both simultaneously.

  2. Work: The main column containing the task type, key, and summary or title.

  3. Action: The current state of the work (e.g., Scheduled, Next action, Someday/maybe). Work items that are marked as "Done" do not appear in the Agenda view.

  4. Action date: The specific date set for items in the "Scheduled" state.

  5. Waiting for: The user you are waiting for on items in the "Waiting for" state.

  6. Time: This column contains visual indicators (dots) showing how much time has passed since the work item was assigned to its current Time Context.

    The calculation of this duration depends on the context the item is in:

    • Today and Tomorrow: The elapsed time is calculated in days.

    • This Week and Next Week: The elapsed time is calculated in weeks.

    • This Month: The elapsed time is calculated in months.

    These indicators help you quickly spot work items that have been sitting in a context for a long time and may need attention ("stalled work"). You can see the meaning of the number and color of the dots in the table below:

  1. Matrix: A label indicating the specific Matrix quadrant (category) assigned to the work. This label is dynamic; it directly reflects the quadrant name configured in the Matrix Settings page. If you customize a quadrant's name, this label updates automatically; otherwise, the default system name (e.g., "Do First" or "Schedule") is displayed.

  2. Options Menu: Opens the quick option menu for the respective work item.
