Import and Export Bundles

This guide outlines the step-by-step process of exporting bundles from one project and importing them into another. During the import process, name comparisons are performed, and color codings are employed to highlight special conditions.

Unavailable Names:

  • If the bundle name in the imported file cannot be found among the bundles in the project, the relevant bundle and component versions will be created.

Existing Names:

  • If the imported bundle name matches a bundle in the project, each feature (e.g., release date) is compared. Different features are highlighted in yellow.

Bundle’s Version Comparison

  • If the version of the imported bundle is not found among the versions in the project, the respective version name is displayed in blue. If found but differs from the Jira version in the project, it is highlighted in yellow. After import, Jira version will be updated or created.

Component Version Operations:

  • If the component version of the exported project's bundle is a component version, the update or creation process is performed through the component version. Otherwise, it is done through the Jira version.

User and Lead Operations

Missing Users:

  • If the lead of the component in the imported data cannot be found among the users in the project, no lead is created. In the case of updating the component, other infos are updated, and the lead of the existing component in the project remains unchanged. If a new component is to be created, the lead information is left blank.

Existing Users:

  • If the lead of the component in the imported data exists in the project, the lead for the component is updated.

Color Coding

  • Blue Color: Indicates missing datas.

  • Yellow Color: Highlights differences.

  • Black Color: Denotes identical items or entities not present in the import file.

This guide provides detailed instructions for comparisons among bundles, component versions, Jira versions, and user information. The color codings aim to offer users an easy understanding of the processes involved.
