  • Release Notes: Shows release notes for the bundle. You can find more details about bundle release notes here.
  • Fixed Issues: Shows issues fixed in this bundle on the issue navigator.
  • Reported Issues: Shows issues found in this bundle on the issue navigator.
  • Configure: Shows component versions added to the bundle and allows you to add/remove component versions from the bundle.
  • Clone: Creates a clone of the bundle. Adding each valid component-version pair to a bundle is time consuming it is much easier to clone a bundle and change necessary information after cloning. "CLONE -" prefix is automatically added to newly created bundle.

Creating a New Bundle

You can associated a bundle with a version in JIRA. You can create new versions for a bundle using JIRA's own Version screen. It is suggested to give bundles more descriptive names instead of usual version numbers if these versions will be used by mostly non-technical peoples. Note that bundle version is optional, you don't need to give bundles a version. If you select a version and if you also activate the related settings from the add-on settings, only these versions will be shown if the user does not select any component on an issue screen. Other than that bundle version doesn't have any affect on the bundle. You can continue to use just the component release grouping functionality of the add-on. Enter bundle name (may be used in JQL), version associated with the bundle (can be empty), release date (can be empty), release status and press the "Add" button. Bundle will be created and added to the list. You can edit bundle information inline in the same screen.

Configuring Bundle Content

Pressing "Configure" link in a bundle row opens the following screen which allows you to add component versions to the bundle.

Prior to version 1.7.4 of the add-on, each bundle may contain a component only once. That is you could not add "Navigation Software" version 1.0 and 2.0 into the same bundle. Starting with version 1.7.4 you can add the same component with different version to the same bundle. We have changed this after some customers wanted this and it made sense for us too.

Version list shows only the versions valid for the selected component for this reason changing component combobox will also change version combobox. You can easily remove a component version from the bundle using "Delete" button inside this screen as shown on the following screenshot. You can re-add the component version any time you want. Adding or removing a component to the bundle does not modify any issue, it just affects which issues are reported with JQL functions provided.
